Infraestructura como código
En este nuevo artículo me gustaría explicar que es infraestructura
como código (IAC), pero primero definamos a que nos referimos cuando
hablamos sobre infraestructura.
Cuando hablamos de infraestructura nos referimos en este caso, a un
servidor(vps) , dominios, redes privadas. etc.
Definición
El concepto de infraestructura como código no es más que la forma de
automatización de nuestra infraestructura a través de código .
Puede que tu seas un freelance o trabajes en una compañía, en la que
constantemente se hace deploy de nuevas aplicaciones.
Imagina tener que estar creando un servidor(vps), agregando las llaves
ssh, creando un record A, load balancers, continuar con la instalación y
configuración de nginx ,mysql docker, php, etc. Todo esto cada vez que
tengas que hacer deploy de una nueva aplicación.
Este es un proceso en el que muchas veces se le dedica tiempo
innecesario.
Es por ello que muchas veces, es mejor encontrar o crear una solución para la automatización en este tipo de procesos.
Para poder trabajar o usar infraestructura como código, lo único que
tenemos que hacer es bien, crear nuestro propio script, o bien usar
alguna herramienta de un tercero.
Usualmente cuando trabajamos con infraestructura como código,
independiente de la herramienta que usamos, siempre trabajamos con algún
lenguaje para la descripción de la configuración, pudiendo ser json,
yaml o algún nuevo lenguaje propio del software (domain-specific
language ). dentro del archivo de configuración, es donde definiremos
todo los componentes necesarios para crear nuestra infraestructura,
variando de sintaxis entre los diferentes softwares que podemos usar.
Cabe mencionar que, usualmente este tipo de software nos permite,
configurar a nuestra infraestructura, de una manera muy detallada,
dependiendo del tipo de proveedor que elijamos , por ejemplo, poder
configurar redes privadas, sistema operativo, podemos agregar dominios,
subdominios , agregar nuestra claves ssh, elegir el datacenter etc. Algo
interesante es que, podemos agregar y ejecutar scripts dentro del vps
durante la construcción, esto para poder configurar dentro todo el
software.
Aunque de igual forma, tenemos otro concepto llamado configuración
como código (CaC)
Qué es exactamente el mismo concepto, pero este está orientado a la
configuración del software dentro de la infraestructura(vps), por
ejemplo la instalación y configuración de nginx, docker, ruby etc. Sin
embargo muchas veces los mismos proveedores (IaC) tienen la misma
funcionalidad o su funcionalidad es intercambiable.
Ventajas y desventajas.
Dentro de las ventajas como hemos mencionado es el de elaborar una
plantilla que podemos re-utilizar múltiples veces, eliminando la
necesidad de realizar configuraciones manuales. Esta sería, la principal
y más importante característica de este tipo de software.
Ya que con ello podemos hacer la replicación de la misma configuración,
para diferentes entornos, para testing, QA, producción, desarrollo, etc.
Otra ventaja que podemos encontrar es que usualmente este tipo de
software es del tipo agnóstico lo que quiere decir que no importa, el
proveedor en donde estés configurando nuestra infraestructura, pudiendo
ser digital ocean, amazon web services, azure, e inclusive virtualbox.
Una desventaja que podemos encontrar es quizá el tiempo que le
dedicamos en configurar nuestro archivo de configuración, así mismo, el
tener que modificar el archivo si es que agregamos una nueva tecnología o
configuración a nuestra infraestructura.

Debajo vemos una lista con varios de los proveedores de infraestructura y configuración como código más sobresalientes.
Cada uno de ellos comparten cierta similitud, en cuanto a configuración.

Conclusión
La automatización es sin duda una de las mejores cosas que podemos
hacer para ahorrar tiempo y muchas veces recursos.
El uso de IaC, dentro de una empresa o de manera independiente trae
muchas ventajas a largo plazo. Este concepto de IaC no es para nada
nuevo, es un concepto de muchos años. De hecho muchos autores. hacen
referencia a que este concepto fue la base de la cual ha surgido toda
esta tendencia del devops.

But speaking at his home, the father of the woman involved today told MailOnline: ‘I’ve read the news and the right thing has happened.
It’s been all over the news and people know what took place.’
He also indicated that his daughter is no longer working at Red Bull but refused to be drawn into any speculation about
what she is doing now and if she is still involved in F1.
He added: ‘You’ll have to find out for yourself, I don’t want to
go into details but she’s not involved with them (Red Bull).’

It comes after Red Bull issued a statement confirming the news this morning, reading:
‘Red Bull has released Christian Horner from his operational duties with effect
from today, Wednesday 9 July 2025, and has appointed Laurent Mekies as CEO of Red Bull Racing.’
Red Bull have not clarified the reason for Horner’s departure, his abrupt dismissal after 20 years has immediately prompted speculation that his sex text scandal has finally caught up with
him.
The team never recovered from the controversy which was followed by months of internal disputes
and declining form on the race track, according to insiders.
And Horner’s dramatic sacking comes amid claims the F1 chief’s ‘ongoing personal issues’ had become ‘a burden to the team’.
The most divisive result of the sexting scandal was a major falling out with world champion driver Max Verstappen who is said to
be considering his future with Red Bull.
In the wake of the sexual harassment allegations, the driver’s father Jos warned that the team was ‘in danger
of being torn apart’ if Horner stayed in his role.
Since then the pair have reportedly been at loggerheads with the latest clash allegedly happening during the British Grand Prix at Silverstone at the weekend where Verstappen could only finish
in fifth place.
In the months since the scandal, Red Bull has lost key senior personnel
and an internal power struggle is said to have led to a series of crisis meetings
behind the scenes.
The crisis erupted last year after a complaint of inappropriate
behaviour was made against Horner, 51, by a younger female colleague.

cache of leaked messages suggested he had pestered the colleague for photos and bombarded her with flirty comments.
Geri reportedly ‘read Christian the riot act’ after the intimate messages emerged
as she jetted into the Middle East for last season’s opening race in Bahrain last
April.
The pop icon is said to have endured ‘the meltdown of all meltdowns’ after the
tranche of ‘humiliating’ messages were leaked as she headed
to the Grand Prix on a private jet.
The row erupted after the woman, in her 40s, went to
HR at the Formula 1 team over grubby WhatsApp messages
she claimed she had received from Horner, often late at night.
The 79 screenshots were emailed anonymously to F1 team principals and officials involved in the
sport.
Horner denied controlling and coercive behaviour’ in the wake of
the scandal and was twice cleared by the F1 team who hired
two KC’s to investigate the allegations.
Horner was brutally mocked online when the ‘mortifying’ leaked texts he allegedly sent to a junior female employee

Texts allegedly exchanged between Horner and the complainant were sent from an anonymous email
to 149 F1 figures – and then ended up being shared on various platforms.
In the midst of the controversy, he was told by his wife, Geri, to

continued. ‘It’s a crucial time of year, in a job that
I do, you’re the front face of the organisation.
‘You can either hide away or you can get out there and face it.’
On the track, Horner defiantly responded to the scandal by helping
Verstappen deliver a fourth-successive world championship,
although Red Bull fell short of the constructors’ title to rivals McLaren.
That appeared to be the beginning of the end of Red Bull’s sporting dominance, with McLaren now 288 points ahead of them in the constructors’
standings for the 2025 season.
Oliver Mintzlaff, CEO Corporate Projects and Investments thanked
Christian Horner for his exceptional work over the last
20 years.
Mintzlafff said: ‘We would like to thank Christian Horner for his
exceptional work over the last 20 years.
‘With his tireless commitment, experience, expertise and innovative thinking, he has been instrumental
in establishing Red Bull Racing as one of the most successful and attractive teams
in Formula One.
‘Thank you for everything, Christian, and you will forever
remain an important part of our team history.’
Horner has been at the top of the team since its inception in 2005,
and has led them in two phases to world championship success through Sebastian Vettel
and Max Verstappen, eight drivers’ championships and six constructors’ championships.
Horner is now replaced by Mekies, who will take
over the duties of CEO at Red Bull Racing, with Alan Permane,
currently Racing Director, to be promoted to Team Principal at Racing Bulls.
